I started Habitat Homes after realising the work I loved most wasn’t the high-end, showpiece projects – it was helping everyday families create spaces they could actually live in. The decks where Christmas lunches happen. The patios where you unwind with a cold drink after work. The outdoor living areas that give kids more room to spread out, grow up, and make memories.
As a Brisbane deck and patio installer, that’s what drives me: creating spaces that feel good to use, every single day.
My Path to Habitat Homes
When I first started in the industry, I spent years working on large, high-budget properties. They looked incredible, but many weren’t lived in – they were investments, holiday homes or houses waiting to be sold. I missed the human connection. I wanted to construct spaces that genuinely changed the way people lived in their homes.
What brought me the most satisfaction were always the ones where I could see the impact immediately.
A deck that doubled a family’s living space. A patio that gave parents a calm, shaded spot to relax. An outdoor area that brought people together in ways the old home layout never could.
Those were the jobs that felt meaningful – so I built a business around that feeling.
